Abstract
Quran is a complete and comprehensive book which is immune from every Flaws and defect. It was is for this reason that the infalliable Imams stressed not only on maintaining a connection with the Quran, but they also paid special attention to teaching the Quran, writing the divine revelation, compilation of the Qurans its or thography and recitation. Hazrat Ali is among the three people whose status of being the writers of the revelation is beyond any contestations. Most of the researchers and historians are of the view that it was Imam Ali who first compiled the chapters of the Holy Quran, to be followed later by Zaid bin Thabit and other companions. The Mushaf, compiled by Imam Ali, had many features which were absent in other Mushafs. Furthermore, the process of diacritical marks started by the instruction of Imam Ali. Some famous styles of recitation also owe their origins to the Imam Ali. In this article a detailed account of the basic Quranic services of Imam Ali and his folowers has been presented.
