Abstract
One of the way of practical education and training is to obey and follow the model. Allah sent prophets for purification of souls (tazkiyyah) as well as education and training and made them practical models for human beings. The submission to these divinely-ordained models (namunah) is constructive taqli ̅d (to follow) which is based on reason. Islam demands eternal guidance and character so that solutions to and answers for every human need and demand in every epoch can be given. Hazrat Fatimah, in this regard, is a practical model not only for women, but also for every pious person. Like Kauthar, which is the shortest chapter in the Quran, her lifespan was very short. The primary purpose of this paper is to examine the criteria for knowledge about God (marifat-e elahi) and human dignity in the eyes of Hazrat Fatimah. In this regard, she has mentioned following things as the basis: to accept religion and the trust of God; to profess the final religion; to believe in the silent Book (Kitab-e Samit i.e. the Quran) and the speaking Wali (i.e. Imam Ali); knowledge of the Quran; to act upon religious laws on the basis of beliefs and the explanation of the divine wisdom in those laws. Following are the ahkam (religious laws) whose logic and philosophy has been described: formal prayers, fasting, pilgrimage, justice, the submission to those in authority (ulu al-amr); holy struggle; patience; enjoining the good, good behavior with parents, maintaining relations with relatives, blood-vengeance (qisas), to fulfill religious vows, prohibition of wine-drinking, and avoidance of qazaf (false charge of fornication), stealing, and polytheism.
