BASIC PRINCIPALS OF EDUCATION & UPBRINGING (From The viewpoint of Jawadi Amoli)
Abstract
No doubt, education & upbringing is a basic objective of sending prophets
as declared in Holly Quran. Ayatollah Allama Jawadi Amoli has presented
the concept of education and upbringing (tarbiyat) from the viewpoint of
Islam in a distinct way. For him, education is the conceptual development
of a person to the level that he/ she could solve complicated scientific and
conceptual issues. According to him, the preeminence of upbringing and
purification of soul over education is like that of goal over means and real
scholars (ulama) are those whom education and knowledge result in their
spiritual upbringing. 8 basic foundations of education & upbring have
been presented in this article according to the viewpoint of Allama Jawadi
Amoli. These are: human ability for education & upbringing, purification,
motivation, ridiculation, rationality, dignity and faith.
