Abstract
In her sermon, Hazrat Fatimah has discussed the ideology of monotheism; the status of the Prophet of Islam and the objective of his prophethood; responsibilities of the Muslim Ummah; the concept of Imamate and caliphate; the significance of the Quran; the description of religious laws and their logic, and the description of the services of Imam Ali for the ummah. She also protested for her rights before the ruler, muhajiri ̅n and anssar, ladies and gentleman. Different historians have quoted the sermon. If anyone among the narrators of the ahadith was suspected of having devotion to the Ahl al-Bait, he was tortured, yet the ahadith regarding the merits of the ahl al-bait were revealed and transmitted. Some unjust writers have attempt to hide what the noble lady had endured, but history is after all history that unearths the secrets and realities over time. The sermon of the Lady Fatimah has been recorded by such a great number of ulama that attests its authenticity, it is, nonetheless, not useless to look at it from the point of view of the ‘science of the men of ahadith’. In this paper, the sanad (chain of transmission of ahadith) of the sermon has been assessed. It has been argued, here, that the sanad of the sermon is undeniable for every just scholar, and that the points of it can be a great source of the guidance for the whole ummah.
